The holiday season is the perfect time to bring the whole family together for fun and memorable activities. With kids breaking up from schools on the 19th December, this is the perfect way to kickstart your holiday season. This year, why not try something different that everyone can enjoy? We have a creative pottery painting session with a lively Christmas quiz and heartwarming meet and greet moments, there are plenty of ways to make this Christmas special for all ages. Here’s a guide to our Closing for Christmas party that promises laughter, creativity, and lasting memories... And maybe the start of a new family tradition for Christmas!

Even better... our Closing for Christmas event gives you the chance to save 20% off all Christmas items and have them back, glazed and kilned, ready for the big day! (Collections will be available on 23rd December 10-11am)

This is where the idea of creating the studio was born from. We used to go as a family every year to paint our Christmas items to proudly display at home every year. Now we have our own studio to be able to create those memories and laughter for lots of other families!

Pottery painting for all ages

Pottery painting is a fantastic activity that sparks creativity and allows family members to express themselves through art. It’s suitable for children, teens, and adults alike, making it an ideal event for families to enjoy together.

  • What to expect: Participants get to choose from a variety of plain pottery items such as Christmas items, mugs, plates, or ornaments. With colourful paints and brushes provided, everyone can decorate their piece with festive designs or personal touches.

  • Benefits: This hands-on activity encourages focus, fine motor skills, and imagination. Plus, it results in a unique keepsake that can be used or displayed during the holiday season or given as the perfect personalised Christmas gift!

  • Tips for families: Plan to spend about 2 to 2.5 hours at the pottery painting studio. Bring old clothes with sleeves for children if you wish (our paints are water based so will not stain). Encourage kids to try different patterns like snowflakes, Christmas trees, or reindeer or even research a design before you come to copy on to your item!

Pottery painting events often include guidance from instructors who help with techniques and offer design ideas. This makes the experience enjoyable even for those who have never painted before.

Christmas Quiz to challenge the family

A Christmas quiz is a lovely way to bring everyone together for some friendly competition. It’s a chance to test knowledge about holiday traditions, movies, songs, and history while sharing laughs and stories.

  • How it works: Families or teams answer a series of festive questions. (Teams are by table, so bring your whole family for more knowledge and fun on your table! Maximum 6) These can range from easy to tricky, covering topics like classic Christmas carols, famous holiday films, and seasonal customs around the world.

  • Why it’s great: Quizzes promote teamwork and conversation. They also help children learn about different cultures and the origins of popular Christmas traditions. Most of all it is great fun!

  • Quiz winners prize:

- A £15 voucher for the studio for your next visit in the new year!

Meet and greet with festive characters

Meeting the Naughty Elf, or other holiday characters is a magical experience for children and adults alike. These meet and greet events create joyful moments and photo opportunities that families cherish. Our Naughty Elf will be making a return to the studio after a really successful event on 6th December! See the video's below for a taste of what to expect. We had a blast seeing those special moments and looks on children's faces while the parents looked on smiling and taking photos.

  • What happens: Families get to spend time with the Naughty Elf. Children can share their Christmas wishes, write a letter to Santa, or simply enjoy a cuddle and a high five.

  • Why it matters: These interactions build excitement and wonder around the holiday season. They also offer a chance for families to slow down and enjoy the spirit of giving and kindness.

  • Tips for parents: Bring a camera or smartphone to capture these special moments. Encourage children to prepare a wish list or a question to ask Santa.
